How will you keep your pets cool all summer long?
Share
The hot days have already started to take place and unfortunately their main phenomenon - the heat - is suffocating. It's true that our pets have a higher core body temperature than us, so they perceive heat much more...intensely!

They pant, their breathing becomes more and more intense and many parts of their body (eg ears) turn red as a reaction to the extreme heat!
So before they reach their limits there are things you can do to keep them safe, away from heat stroke and especially cool! So how will you keep your pet cool this summer too? See below:
1) Keep the house cool . By leaving the fan, the air conditioner or any other means of air conditioning on, your space does not become suffocating from the heat, especially during the midday hours when the mercury turns red! It is also good - also from the point of view of saving energy - to close the shutters a little so that the sun does not directly hit your space.
2) Get special cooling mats . These are mattresses that do not require refrigeration and manage to keep your pet cool for up to 8 hours! He can lie or even sleep on them.
3) Get special cooling toys . Anything that is filled with water and put in the fridge to freeze before you give it to your pet is your ally for the summer!
4) Pay attention to the times and places of walking . Reshape your schedule if necessary so that your walks take place either early in the morning (before 9am) or late at night (after 8pm).Also prefer the walk to take place mainly on dirt, grass and away from cement as this material absorbs and emits heat for many hours.
5) Do not make a mistake or an unnecessary haircut ! Great attention. Be sure to consult a specialist groomer to indicate what haircut suits your dog for the season, and don't be in a hurry to ask for the "fine" haircut as you might remove your dog's most important heat-protective coat!

If your pet lives almost permanently outside the home then keep in mind that:
a) water needs to be changed at least 2-3 times a day, especially on hot days when it tends to evaporate or be consumed faster.
b) you should provide it with a shady place and ideally on very hot days bring it inside the house.
c) it would be good to pour some water on his body and face every now and then to cool him down.
